The Listener Dominants The Conversation

Most people think that the one doing the most talking dominants the conversation. That is WRONG. See how far a conversation goes when no one is listening.

Here is something I learned when I was in college. The person who is the most interesting is the person who is the most interested. Yeah, I learned that in college. There is a story to go along with it, but I won’t get into that now.

Here is the thing. You might not have the slightest clue about what someone is saying. But…if you are paying attention to what they are saying they will talk directly to you! If you are in a group setting then all you have to do is be the most interested in what the other people are talking about.

You will notice that other people will start looking at you when they speak, point their body language towards you, and maybe even begin to ask you questions. You can do all of this without even saying a whole lot.

Learn To Read More

Over the years reading has become less popular with so much other forums of entertainment. There is no better way to become a better conversationalist then to read. Why? Because you can educate yourself in wide range of topics. This makes you allot more interesting because you can talk to allot of different types of people.

What should you be reading? Magazines. These are easy to read and keep you up to date on a wide range of topics. This is the first place you should start. Anything related to entertainment and celebrities is usually good. Women love to talk about celebrity gossip. Fashion is another good one. You may even want to consider reading some of the magazines women read.

As a final tip make sure you read up on material that is based on the sort of women you would like to meet. If you want to meet women who are into art then you should learn a little on art. You don’t have to be an expert, just know enough to know something.

Watch Specialty TV

The best shows on TV are the educational ones. Things like the Food Network and Discovery Channel can educate you. You can use the things you learn to bring up interesting conversation.

For example, you might say the following:

“I was watching the Discovery Chanel last night. They had a thing on Dolphins. Did you know that Dolphins are the only other species on earth to make love just for fun?”

If your going to watch TV then why not find something that can help you make interesting conversation.

Don’t Be A Fool If You Don’t Know

This is just something you need to know so that you don’t make a fool of yourself.

If you don’t know enough about a conversation that someone is having then don’t say anything at all.

Sometimes people like to act is if they know what someone else is talking about or say something to change the conversation. Don’t bother doing this. If other people are enjoying the conversation then let them. Don’t try to draw all that attention to yourself. If someone asks you a question that you don’t know the answer to then just say “I don’t know!”

It just isn’t worth making an idiot of yourself trying to change the topic or start talking about things you know nothing about. If you just listen you might actually learn something anyways.
