I have been in an unrewarding 3 year relationship because I was desperate. Desperate for approval and attention and all kinds of things. I need to get my own life, you are correct. I need to get my own social life and I need to be confident in myself. Demanding that she tells me all the time that I am a good man and that I make her happy is pointless when I do know this for a fact and am just too busy being depressed when with a great girl to see it. I lost that said girl because I was not "using my need for sex to motivate or excel", I was too busy being self-loathing and lethargic.
